UK weather: Met Office hour-by-hour Bristol forecast amid Storm Arwen warning

Wind gusts are expected to reach a whopping 54 miles-per-hour in Bristol as the Met Office has named the storm which is set to batter the region.

Storm Arwen is set to arrive in the West Country today (Friday, November 26), bringing cold weather and high winds just weeks before Christmas.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for tomorrow (Saturday, November 27) in the South West, with people being told to expect disruption when it arrives.

But if the hour-by-hour forecast for today and into tomorrow is anything to go by, you'd better wrap up warm if you're planning on heading out tonight.

A message posted on the Met Office's Twitter account yesterday said: "#StormArwen has been named and is forecast to bring a period of very strong winds and cold weather to the UK from Friday into Saturday.

"Disruption to travel and infrastructure is likely over the coming days with warnings in force."

Hour-by-hour forecast for Bristol

9am: Temperatures are set to peak at 9am this morning, reaching highs of nine degrees, feeling like six. There is a 40 per cent chance of rain with wind gusts of 29 mph.

10am: Again, highs of nine degrees feeling like six. A lesser chance of rain with high winds staying around 29 mph.

11am: Temperature to feel like five degrees, with wind gusts reaching 32 mph. A higher wind speed too of 16mph. Wrap up warm.

12pm: Again, feeling like five degrees. A slight drop in wind gusts going down to 31 mph with a chance of sunny intervals.

1pm: At 1pm the temperature drops to eight degrees, feeling like four. Wind speeds increase to 18 mph and wind gusts to peak at 35 mph.

2pm: Another drop in temperature to seven degrees, feeling like three. A slight drop in wind gusts too, dropping to 32 mph.

3pm: Temperature to stay the same, as wind gusts drop to 28 mph.

4pm: A further drop in wind gusts to 23mph.

5pm: A dramatic drop in temperature to five degrees, feeling like one as the clouds move in. Wind gusts to pick up to 27 mph.

6pm: Freezing temperatures expected from now until the morning. Wind gusts of 28mph.

7pm - 10pm: Temperatures to stay at zero degrees while wind gusts average 26mph. A very chilly evening.

11pm: At 11pm wind gusts pick up to 33 mph as temperatures dive below zero.

12am - 5am: Temperatures average -3 overnight with a 50 per cent chance of rain. Wind gusts to peak at a whopping 54 mph at 4am in the morning on Saturday as a yellow weather warning for wind is enforced.

6am: Temperatures feels like -3. A very windy day expected as wind gusts to average at 52mp for the next few hours.

7am - 9am: Temperature to continue feeling like -3 throughout the day. Wind gusts average 52mph as Storm Arwen hits.
