Temperatures are set to soar to 25C today making it the hottest day of the year, forecasters predict.
It comes hot on the heels of two days of glorious weather over the long weekend, which sent Britons flocking to parks and beaches as well as pubs and restaurants now that Covid-19 restrictions have mostly been lifted.
Becky Mitchell, a meteorologist from the Met Office, said the mercury could reach 25C (77F) on Monday - surpassing the high for 2021 so far, which was set on March 30 at Kew Gardens when the temperature hit 24.5C.
Temperatures are expected to be at least in the low 20s for most parts of the UK, even northern Scotland.
But if a new benchmark for the year is set, it is not expected to last for long, as temperatures are expected to climb to 27C (80.6F) on Wednesday before cooler, fresher air moves in.
What will the weather be like in my area?
North of England
Warm and sunny weather is expected across the north of England, with highs of 22C in Manchester, according to the Met Office.
It has been a foggy start in Newcastle and some areas of the north-east - particularly along the coast - will be cooler than elsewhere today.
Conditions could turn cloudy in Cumbria later on but the sunshine is set to last into the evening for most places.

East of England
Temperatures will generally be in the high teens or low 20s in the east of England.
Despite an overcast start in Norwich, Cambridge and Peterborough, things will become sunnier throughout this morning.
This afternoon the whole region will bask in sunshine as the mercury climbs to 24C in Cambridge.

South of England
Highs of 24C are expected across the south of England, including in London, Reading and Bristol.
The weather will be slightly cooler along the southern coast and in the mid to high teens in Cornwall.
The whole region will enjoy sunshine today.

West of England
It will be an overcast start for much of the west of England today, including Shrewsbury and Hereford.
Things will turn sunnier this afternoon although there will still be cloudy intervals in some parts.
Highs of 23C are expected in Hereford, with temperatures climbing above 20C across much of the west.

Midlands
The Midlands will have the cloudiest weather of any region today, although many will still see sunshine.
Much of the region will have an overcast morning although sunny weather is expected in the early afternoon.
This will sadly make way for cloud in many areas as the afternoon progresses, although things will still be warm with highs of 23C.

Scotland
Highs of 22C are expected in north-west Scotland this afternoon, the Met Office says.
While much cooler temperatures are likely along parts of the eastern coast, nowhere is expecting rain.
Instead the whole of Scotland is set to bask in sunshine today, with many areas set for 20C temperatures or higher.

Wales
Forecasters say it will be a 23C scorcher in Cardiff today, with the rest of Wales experiencing similar warm weather.
While southern Wales will enjoy sunshine all day, the north may only get sunny intervals, with some places facing a cloudy afternoon.
Despite this, there will be no rain in Wales today and the sun will last into the evening.

Northern Ireland
Highs of 20C are expected in Northern Ireland, with the southern counties expecting the best of the weather in the early afternoon.
Belfast and the east of Northern Ireland will bask in the sunshine as the day progresses.
Although it will be a cloudy start for Londonderry (Derry) and Enniskillen, the weather will pick up later on and sunny intervals are expected later.
