UK weather: Highs of 28C forecast this weekend

Temperatures are expected to peak this weekend as the country's mini heatwave continues.

We'll be getting more of the glorious weather we've been all enjoying lately as we enter the weekend, with the majority of the UK remaining dry and hot.

In fact, Mirror Online reports the Met Office is predicting some regions, especially in the south of England, will record the lowest May rainfall figures on record when the final statistics are collated on Monday (June 1).

In some areas of the UK, the temperature is set to hit 28C on Sunday. In Bristol, people can expect highs of 24C and sunny intervals in the afternoon.

According to the Met Office, Bristol could be in for some showers in the middle of next week - so you might want to make the most of the fine and dry weather this weekend.

The Met Office forecast for today (Saturday, May 30) says: "Another dry, sunny and very warm day for most inland areas and in the north-west, although an onshore breeze will keep some east facing coasts cooler."

The outlook for Sunday to Tuesday states: "Mainly dry, sunny and very warm. Cooler along east coasts with patchy coastal mist at times in the northeast.

"Cloud and some rain may affect the far northwest on Tuesday."
