Snow could reach Bristol and parts of Somerset as temperatures are predicted to plummet to sub-zero levels across Britain next week.

A huge span of snow spanning from Scotland to the Westcountry could arrive on Tuesday, according to the latest weather graphics.

Strong winds could coincide with five consecutive days of snow following disruption from Storm Arwen last weekend, which claimed the lives of three people.

New graphics from WX Charts, which provides international weather data, reveals a huge band of heavy rain is set to move in from the West on Monday morning.

By 9am, heavy snow is expected in Scotland and the North of England, with Manchester, Liverpool and Stoke all set for a dumping.

That will gradually move further east before a new weather front arrives on Tuesday, with heavy rain turning to snow come the evening.

The charts show snow will gradually increase, arriving in parts of east Wales, Bristol, North East Somerset and and the West Midlands by 9pm.

Wintry showers are also predicted in West Somerset from around 6pm.
