Four days of weather warnings have been issued by the Met Office as Britain is set to be battered by 70mph gusts and huge downpours.
Unsettled weather is expected to hit parts of the UK today (Thursday) and a number of warnings are in place until at least Sunday.
Two yellow weather warnings for rain in Bristol have been issued for today and tomorrow, when disruption to transport and flooding is likely.
Forecasters are predicting that rain at the end of the week could affect a large part of southern England, with flooding likely, reports the Mirror.
Wind and rain are expected today along the west coast as high as Glasgow and southern parts of the country until Thursday afternoon.
A rain warning is also in place for eastern areas of Scotland in between Aberdeen and Dundee.
no wind warnings are issued for Friday but those for rain remain in place for south west England and parts of east Scotland.
On Saturday and Sunday warnings for downpours are concentrated along the south cost of England.
Wales is set to be amongst areas hit with heavy rain and is subject to a three-day weather warning, with flooding and travel disruptions likely.
In Bristol residents should wake up to a dry day but downpours are expected to move in by around 2pm and linger for the rest of the day.
Friday will also be wet, with highs of around 10C and feels like temperatures of just 5C.
