UK weather forecaster warns four 'heatwaves' are on their way

The UK is set to bask in another warm month, forecasters have warned.

The UK including Bristol has been enjoying a long period of dry warm weather with no real break in the atmosphere expected for almost another week.

And now forecasters say this is only the beginning with highs of 28 degrees expected.

Leon Brown, head of meteorological operations at the Weather Channel,  told the Express : “After unprecedented June heat across Europe, four more periods people would call heatwaves are forecast in the UK this summer.

“Each period would see maximum temperatures reach at least 28C, 5C above London’s 23C average summer maximum temperature.”

According to the Weather Channel, the average monthly temperature for July in the UK is 23C, however so far the average temperature across the UK in July has been 26C.

The Met Office predicts that temperatures will not dip below 20C for the rest of the week and at the start of next week (commencing July 15).
