Brits are set for another wet and windy weekend with 178 flood alerts still in place.
The past month has seen the country battered by storms with it being the wettest February on record.
While flood warnings are still in place, Brits will get a slight reprieve from the deluge of rain over the past few weekends.
Today will get off to a cold start but will be bright and clear for much of the country.
In the evening it will be dry with clear spells for most but there will be patchy cloud and scattered showers in north-west Scotland, with snow over the hills.
Through the night a widespread frost will develop in the east. It will be cloudy in the west with patchy rain in Northern Ireland.
But a low pressure front will be bring widespread rain on Saturday night.
Met Office meteorologist Alex Deakin said: "There are some frost and fog patches around this morning, it'll be a pretty chilly start but for many it's going to be a dry and bright Friday morning with plenty of sunshine.
"There'll be a fair bit of cloud over Northern Ireland and eastern parts of England but certainly for the South East of England, it'll be a much drier day compared to yesterday.
"Over in the west there's also a fair bit of cloud and a sprinkling of showers for Wales and parts of South West England."
Mr Deakin said showers will develop over Northern Ireland and parts of western Scotland in the afternoon.
Temperatures will get up to the high single figures, which he says is still below average for this time of year.
By Friday evening there will be a smattering of showers but Mr Deakin said there'll be "no major weather dramas" this weekend.
"But there is an approaching weather front and this will bring some wet weather during the course of the weekend.," he said.
"It's tied into a developing area of low pressure and like recent weekends it is going to turn quite windy and this weather front will bring some rain.
"Now the wet and windy weather this weekend doesn't look as extreme as previous weekends and in fact, large parts of the country will be dry for much of Saturday but it will be fairly cloudy and there will be some rain, particularly in the North West."
He continued: Saturday night we'll see a spell of wet and windy weather swinging across much of the country and that will be followed on Sunday by still fairly blustery conditions, plenty of showers and some sunny spells as well. So it will be fairly changeable to say the least."
Today:
A few fog patches at first across England and Wales. Many places dry with some sunshine and feeling a little milder than yesterday after a cold start. Scattered showers in west.
Tonight:
Mainly dry with clearer skies across many central and eastern parts of the UK. Cloud increasing in the west with outbreaks of rain and drizzle later.
Saturday:
Rather cloudy with outbreaks of rain, this heavy and persistent over western hills. Windy increasing with coastal gales in west.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Early rain clearing to sunshine and showers on Sunday, before further spells of wet and windy weather arrive for most through Monday. Windy with temperatures mainly near the seasonal average.
