Brits are set for more balmy weather over the weekend where temperatures are going to be hitting 18C making it warmer and drier than the Algarve.
While many have headed abroad over the Easter holidays, the weather in the UK has been able to hold its own against many of the traditional tourist hotspots.
There has been heavy rain in Spain and Portugal while this is also expected to move into France over the weekend. It means that the Algarve is set to not see temperatures rise above 17C and there will be plenty of showers.
In contrast the mercury rose to 19C in Flintshire on Friday with the best temperatures in the west of the UK as winds bring colder conditions for the east.
After the Easter break which saw the hottest temperature of the year so far, with 23C, people will again be heading outside this weekend to bask in some pleasant sunshine. Beaches are set to be busy as well as bar gardens.
BBC weather forecaster Louise Lear said: “A lot of dry weather across the UK once again. Cloudier skies in the south first thing, clearer skies north and west and so a chillier start here.
"That easterly feed continuing to bring quite a lot of cloud first thing and thick enough for a few showers in the Midlands, south Wales and into south-west England. Eventually the cloud should break up and the sunshine comes through but the best of the sunshine again reserved for north west England, western Scotland and Northern Ireland.”
She continued: "Breezy, cooler here along that east coast, 12C or 13C but with some sunshine we could see 16C to 18C as an afternoon high.
“Now still that low pressure is causing some issues across France bringing some heavy snow potentially late in the season in the Alps. Plenty of isobars across the UK, the wind still continuing to be a feature but that north-westerly wind may well break up the cloud a little quicker on Sunday so more sunshine coming through."
The outlook for next week though isn't so promising with the mercury set to drop but there should still be plenty of sunshine.
"Temperatures could be colder than average next week even with some night frosts but we lose the wind Tuesday and into Wednesday so some good new and with some sunshine coming through as well," said Ms Lear.

A cloudy start across much of England and Wales with a few spots of rain, then a few heavy showers breaking out across central, southern and western parts this afternoon. Elsewhere, warm sunny spells developing for many but remaining breezy.
Tonight:
Some showery rain affecting the far south. Dry with clear spells elsewhere, though low cloud affecting some northeastern areas, especially across Scotland.
Sunday:
Most parts dry with broken cloud and sunny spells. A few showers possible, mostly across central and eastern England during the afternoon. Brisk northeasterly winds slowly easing.
Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:
A few showers on Monday, mainly for England, otherwise dry with sunny spells. Breezy along some south and east coasts; light winds elsewhere. Chilly by night with some rural frost.
