UK weather forecast: Rain to clear for 'fine and dry' weather

Rain showers and windy conditions will clear for some 'fine and dry' weather from the start of next week.

The Met Office says rain will move southeastwards across England today (March 15), before it clears the far southeast at around dusk.

It will then be a fine and dry Monday (March 16) before the rain returns and heads south later in the week.

Forecasters say showers will follow while some 'very mild' weather develops in the south.

The forecast for today states: "Rain moving southeastwards across England, clearing the far southeast around dusk.

"Gradually brighter in west, with scattered showers, heaviest in Northern Ireland. Scotland seeing showery rain. Windy, with coastal gales.

The outlook for later in the week says: "Fine and dry after a frosty start Monday.

"Rain in the northwest later will sink south through Tuesday and Wednesday.

"Showers follow, whilst some very mild weather develops further south."

In Bristol , we should expect some heavy rain this morning before it clears for some sunny spells on Monday.
