UK weather forecast: Near-perfect conditions for Bonfire Night as skies set to be clear and dry

Near-perfect weather conditions are forecast for Bonfire Night with skies set to be clear and dry.

According to the Met Office, firework spectators are in for a good view as the weather is set to be mild and clear.

After a foggy start to the day in London, it is expected to brighten up slowly, leading into a clear and fairly mild evening.

Richard Miles, a forecaster for the Met Office said: “It should be dry and mild for a lot of the day, but there may be some fog this afternoon.

“The fog will clear over the morning and the evening should be good and clear.”

Mr Miles added most places in the UK “should be ok” for a good view of firework displays, although there may be some rain in the north of England.

Maximum temperatures in London could reach up to 16C – much hotter than last year, where highs were predicted to be 9C.

And the warmer temperatures are set to continue for the rest of the week, with highs of 16C and 14C predicted.

Bonfire Night should see scores of Londoners celebrating, with numerous events being held showcasing fireworks displays.

As well as bonfire and firework shows, the annual Million Mask March will take place in London as well, which will see protesters marching through the capital wearing Guy Fawkes masks.
