The Met Office has issued more severe yellow weather warnings as ice and snow are set to hit parts of the UK from today.
Longer journey times are expected as roads and railways are likely to be affected by snow, ice and floods.
The Met Office said: “Wintry showers, including snow settling away from the west coast, will continue through Saturday onwards into early Sunday.
“Accumulations of 1 to 3 cm are expected above 100 to 200 m with 5 to 10 cm above 300 m.
“Icy patches will be an additional hazard along with some strong, gusty winds.”
The alerts for severe weather across Scotland are in place until 10am on Sunday.
The areas in the snow and ice warning are Central, Tayside & Fife, Grampian, Highlands & Eilean Siar and Strathclyde.
Dan Suri, chief forecaster at the Met Office, said: “A relatively deep area of a low-pressure system on Monday provides a continuation of the extremely unsettled period the UK has endured.
"Despite reports to the contrary, this system hasn’t been named, and there is no plan to do so currently, despite some speculation on social media.”
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency has issued 38 flood warnings and eight flood alerts.
Mr Suri added: "With further rain in the forecast over the coming days, additional rainfall could create further challenges as river catchments are more likely to respond to extra rainfall more quickly. Flooding, especially in areas already heavily affected, remains a possibility.”
Scott Squires, Duty Tactical Manager for Natural Resources Wales said: “As the floodwaters recede and communities start to get back on their feet, we’ll continue to support local authorities and emergency service in these affected areas.
"Over the coming days our teams will be checking for any signs of damage to our flood defences, and removing blockages and debris which has built up in culverts and drainage grids etc.”
More warning for snow are in place on Monday as severe weather is expected to spread northeastwards into Scotland early on Monday, the Daily Express reports.
The snow warning for Monday is in place from 6am until 9am and is for Central, Tayside & Fife, Grampian, Highlands & Eilean Siar, SW Scotland, Lothian Borders and Strathclyde.
A statement from the Met Office reads: "Snow may bring disruption, mainly on high ground, during the early morning rush hour.
"There is a small chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel."
"There is a slight chance that some rural communities could become cut off."
"There is a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected."
