UK weather forecast: Met Office has good news and bad news

The Met Office is predicting a "changeable" mix of weather over the coming days.

In their UK forecast for today (Sunday, August 31), the experts are expecting breezy weather with a mixture of sunny spells and showers.

"Heaviest and most frequent across northern and central areas, where possibly thundery," the Met Office website says.

"Driest across southern England. Cooler than on Saturday."

Moving onto the early parts of next week, the forecast continues: "Changeable with spells of rain and strong winds moving southeastwards, interspersed with quieter periods, with sunshine and some showers.

"Often dry in the south. Feeling cooler, with some chilly nights."

When it comes to Bristol specifically, people can expect sunshine throughout today, with a few clouds appearing from 12pm to 5pm.

Temperatures should peak at 18C from 2pm to 5pm, and the chance of rain is rated at below five per cent for most of the day.
