UK weather forecast from the Met Office for Wednesday, August 28

The UK is set for a much wetter and cooler day on Wednesday as the late August heatwave draws to a close.

According to Met Office forecasters, rain will hit the west of the country first before moving slowly eastwards.

Some people may miss the wet weather, particularly in the southeast which may stay dry but temperatures will be noticeably cooler than on Monday and Tuesday which saw highs of 30c in some areas.

Despite the showers, UV levels are expected to be around medium, along with pollen levels.

Bristolians can expect a mostly dry morning and temperatures of around 17C before the rain sets in from 1pm.

Showers are expected to continue until around 7pm before the skies clear around 10pm. The night will be much cooler with highs of around 15C.

Thursday and Friday also look set to be rather overcast with a more unsettled picture in store for the weekend.
