Britain is going to be hotter than Lisbon this weekend.

Sun-seeking Brits will be delighted to bask in glorious temperatures of 24C in the last blast of summer before the colder weather sets in.

Already the Met Office have said September is on track for the warmest on record.

Sizzling temperatures will reach 23C across the east and south east of England on Saturday.

The warmth continues throughout the weekend as temperatures will climb to 24C on Sunday in the same hotspots.

By comparison, Portugal’s Lisbon will only have cool temperatures of 22C over the weekend while Britain enjoys the hot spell of weather.

However, the Met Office have said autumn is very much on the way and cooler temperatures will soon chill the air.

Met Office forecaster Jonathan Vautrey warned the chillier weather is expected to sweep around the UK on Monday.

He told The Sun: “This will make make its way eastwards through Monday which will bring an autumnal feel with it.

“That will bring in a cooler and fresher feel.”

It comes amid reports the mini heatwave would stretch out a few more days.

Last weekend, Brits enjoyed temperatures hotter than the south of France.

Brits have welcomed the warm September while it lasts after Londoners battled flash-flooding and torrential rain over August and July time.
