Winds of up to 100mph are expected to batter the UK with yellow warnings now put in place.
More stormy weather is coming - and it will be joined by heavy rain and freezing temperatures on election day on Thursday.
The Met Office has put the warnings in place for most of Scotland and the north of England for Tuesday.
Many parts of Wales has also been told to be alert with travel problems predicted.
But it appears to be better news for the rest of England.
It will be dry and cold in the south and the east with frost expected.
“The strong winds are pretty widespread,” said Met Office meteorologist Alex Burkill.
“It’s very windy in the west and southwest so that’s where we’re going to see the greatest impact unfortunately.”
Heavy rain on Thursday could deter some from visiting polling stations.
We will also see "quite a drop" in temperature between Tuesday and Wednesday.
Temperatures will sink to 9C (48.2F) on Wednesday, a drop of about 4C (7.2F) from Tuesday's expected temperature.
Mr Burkill also gave a forecast ahead of Thursday's General Election .

"It looks like there will be wind and rain for most places," he said, adding that central and southern parts of England were most likely to be hit with the rain.
Small amounts of sleet and snow are also expected in the highest parts of Scotland, with highest national temperatures of between 10C (50F) and 11C (51.8F).
Forecaster Nicola Maxey said: "It's going to remain like this for most of the week.
"By polling day on Thursday we'll also have to contend with freezing temperatures and heavy rain.

"The good news is that that rain is expected to move quickly eastwards throughout the day.
"But it's highly likely that those heading out to cast their vote will get a pretty good soaking."
Coastal towns have also been issued with a warning.
The Environment Agency said: “Localised flooding is possible on east and south coasts on Monday, and rivers and surface water in the West on Tuesday.
"There may be travel disruption.”
