UK weather forecast: Britain set for heatwave with temperatures of 25C

Britain is set for a heatwave with temperatures of 25C as glorious summer weather returns over the weekend.

Forecasters are predicting the hot weather will continue into next week allowing Brits to return to beaches and outdoor spaces, Mirror Online reports.

Met Office forecaster John Griffiths said: “For Saturday, we’re looking at a mix of showers and sunny spells across Northern Britain.

"The South and South West is where the best of the sunshine is going to be, with the highest temperature today looking like about 22C for most of England and Wales.

“Sunday is going to be the best day of the week with plenty of fine weather.

"Clouds are building in the East and the North, but even with that, people can expect sunny spells with a temperature of around 21 to 23C, with possible highs of 25C in and around London."

The Met Office forecast for today (Tuesday, July 14) meanwhile says: "Early rain over southeast England soon clearing.

"Thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain then into western UK again later. In-between some sunny spells but also one or two showers."

The outlook for Wednesday to Friday then reads: "Often cloudy and cool in the west; especially the northwest with patchy rain and drizzle.

"Elsewhere mostly dry with light winds and becoming increasingly bright and warm."

In Bristol, temperatures will slowly build throughout the week until the weekend when sunny spells and highs of 24C are expected.
