The scorching conditions we were enjoying as part of the July heatwave have taken a huge downturn this week.
Merseyside has been battered with heavy showers with the Met Office issuing a yellow weather warning for the region with concerns thunderstorms may lead to flooding and transport disruption.
While the weather warning has now been lifted, it has been another gloomy day in Liverpool so far today as rain showers have dominated the skies.

The Met Office predict that the heavy downpour is set to continue until 3pm when the chance of rain will reduce to 20%.
However, the break in rain is just temporary as there is a 40% chance of showers returning at 4pm.
The rain is expected to stay on until 9pm and it is set to remain cloudy for the rest of the evening.
The temperature is set to remain warm and hover around 15C for the majority of Friday.
