UK weather: Dry but breezy start to the weekend with sunny spells expected

It's going to be a dry start to the weekend with sunny spells forecast for today (December 28).

It was a rainy and blustery Boxing Day for many but now it seems the weather will be becoming less turbulent for a whille.

In Bristol and much of the country, Met Office forecasters say it's going to be dry with a mixture of cloud and sunny spells.

It's still going to be breezy out there so make sure to wrap up warm if you are heading out. Temperatures are expected to reach no higher than 11C.

The dry weather is thankfully expected to last until at least Monday (December 30).

The Met Office's general UK forecast for today states: "Mild and windy across northwestern areas with some rain at times, heavy over the hills of western Scotland.

"Dry elsewhere with variable amounts of cloud and some sunny spells."
