UK weather: Dry and cold day for most, says Met Office

You will want to wrap up warm when you head outside today (Tuesday) as forecasters predict cool temperatures.

Many parts of the UK are tipped to be dry, however, with Bristol among them.

Bristolians will experience temperatures below 10 degrees throughout the morning, according to the Met Office, but it is always likely to feel marginally colder than it actually is.

A high of 11 degrees is expected to hit at 1pm, lasting until 4pm.

It is likely to be cloudy in Bristol throughout the day.

Poorer weather is due for parts of the South West, with potentially heavy rain for Cornwall. Scattered coastal showers will affected some eastern coastal counties.

A Met Office spokesperson said: "Many areas staying fine and rather cold. Scattered showers will continue to affect some eastern coastal counties, while rain in southwest England may become more widespread, perhaps heavy towards Cornwall."

As the week goes on, the cold settled weather is expected to give way to wind and outbreaks of rain with lots of low cloud.

There could be some frosty mornings across the UK but this will mostly be in the north.
