It's been a gloomy start to the week for the weather in Liverpool.
The UK has been battered by rainfall throughout August, but an updated weather forecast offers an optimistic outlook for when the sunny weather could return.
Latest predictions have given hope of a "potential heatwave" arriving over the Bank Holiday weekend - as Manchester Evening News reports.

While the dull conditions are expected to continue for the first half of the week in Liverpool, the Met Office forecasts weather could improve as the week progresses with sunny intervals expected over the weekend as temperatures move into the twenties.
And, according to the BBC, there is high confidence that the end of the month will see "summerlike" weather.
For the week of August 23 - August 29, the BBC forecast says: "We have high confidence in the high pressure and above average temperatures.
"As high pressure sits overhead for longer, it will help warm up the air stuck in place overhead, so we anticipate that temperatures will be widely above average for many of the days. With this comes an increased chance for a heat wave to develop."
For the same week, the Met Office say: "There is a greater chance of winds from a southerly sector allowing for the possibility of some very warm spells."
But it comes with the warning: "This may also bring the chance of intermittent heavy rain and thundery showers."
