UK weather: Brits set for July heatwave as Met Office predicts 'very warm' conditions

The Met Office has predicted when the UK will be treated to 'very warm weather ' - with the possibility of a heatwave in July.

A thunderstorm yellow weather warning was issued by the Met Office for a large part of England.

But it looks like good weather could soon return after that.

The Met Office's long-range forecast predicts much more settled weather will "likely be in place across much of the country at the end of next week as drier and warmer weather develops from the west".

According to BirminghamLive, the long-range forecast for July 9 until July 18 says: "There is a lower chance of seeing more prolonged unsettled weather, mainly in the west.

"Towards the end of the period, things are looking mostly fine and dry, though there remains a chance of isolated thunderstorms.

"Many areas are likely to see temperatures trending upwards through the period, with parts of the south potentially becoming very warm.

"Winds are looking to remain light across the UK for most of the period."

After that, it is hopefully blue skies and heatwave ahead.

The Met Office's outlook for July 19 to August 2 predicts an "increased chance of some very warm or hot spells occurring".

Forecasters say "fine and dry weather for much of the UK is most likely for the rest of July" from that point on.

Temperatures are also likely to be above average for much of this period.

However, forecasters say there's a chance for occasional spells of rain in north-western areas, with a very low chance of thundery conditions developing in the south.
