And reports suggest that temperatures could rise even higher as the month continues - topping 30C by July.
Bookies Ladbrokes are even offering odds of just 1/3 that that number could be reached by the end of this week.
A spokesman said: "The latest odds suggest we're well on course for a record-breaking hot month, with temperatures now likely to smash the 30C barrier before the week is out."
The Met Office told The Sun that it is too early to tell if June 2021 could be the hottest ever - but warm conditions look likely.

"High pressure is starting to build which should lead to fine and dry conditions, with the occasional showery and thundery outbreaks.
"We’re hopefully looking at what will be a very nice June indeed."
Lockdown-weary Brits have been making the most of the beautiful weather over the last few weeks, with thousands heading to the beach.
