UK weather: 32C temperature forecast 'within weeks' as sunshine set to stay

The sunny weather is set to stay for the next week, but one forecaster has predicted hotter temperatures are to come.

Forecasters have said most areas of the UK can expect to see daytime temperatures in the late teens followed by frosty nights.

Temperatures will drop a few degrees across the nation on Wednesday through to Friday, before picking up again in time for the weekend.

But according to one leading weather expert, it won't be very long until we're enjoying sizzling temperatures.

After what has been the coldest start to April in eight years, it's great news for sunseekers with the chilly spell well and truly at an end, reports the Mirror.

Today is expected to be slightly cooler before a warm end to the week.

It comes as some forecasters say this summer could be the hottest in over a decade.

The mercury could be set to hit 32C inside a few weeks – which should mean a scorcher over the May Bank Holiday.

Meteorologist Jim Dale claims some very warm weather is ahead for us.

The British Weather Services expert said: "There will definitely be some spikes of heat as we go into summer when I expect to see temperatures in the high 20Cs or even the low 30Cs.

“This is largely because of a balancing effect which, after the colder period of weather over the past couple of months, dominated by a northerly airflow, should revert and come from a more southerly direction.

“This will bring more in the way of hotter weather as we go through the end of spring and into summer.

“This summer could be up there with the warmer ones from the past ten years, it is more likely to turn out one of the warmer ones that to be cooler.”
