Irish music icon Roisin Murphy further solidified her identity as a legend in this country following her quick and naughty response to a relatively harmless question on UK television this weekend.
The Moloko frontwoman turned solo singer from Arklow, Wicklow was featuring on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch as a quest and was waiting for some show grub when she threw a spanner in the works that left the studio quiet but every Irish person at home in tears.
We know it's a cliché, but you'll only get it if you're Irish, hence the dead silence in studio as you can see in this clip below...
While cooking is underway, one of the presenters asks the 'Sing It Back' and 'The Time is Now' songwriter "Do you have a favourite bean?" to which the Wicklow woman calmly replies "me own" which is met with an immediate "WHAT" by presenter Tim Lovejoy before Roisin brushes off the hilarious remark.
The music maestro was very pleased with herself, taking to Twitter to pat herself on the back for such a witty comeback.
She said: "Job done. I've been on telly this morning (Sunday). Sunday Brunch on Channel 4. Tim Lovejoy asks me 'what's your favourite bean?'
"I reply, 'my own'. A career highlight."
The disco queen performed from her home during lockdown in May, shimmying around to a psychedelic background and singing her 2012 track Simulation.
