Countries around the world have banned travellers from Scotland and the rest of the UK as cases of the highly transmissible Omicron variant continue to soar.
Earlier last week, France introduced some travel restrictions in their bid to limit the spread of the Omicron variant - with UK citizens now requiring a “compelling reason” to enter France, with trips for tourism or business banned.
Now, a new travel ban has been put into place over the weekend by another European country.

Germany's ban on travel from the UK came into force from Sunday, December 19 at 11pm banning carriers such as airlines from transporting British tourists to the country.
The country’s public health authority has said from Sunday, only German citizens and residents, their partners and children, and transit passengers will be allowed to travel to the country from the UK.
Below is the latest information on UK travel restrictions, according to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO):
Australia
Entry to Australia is only available if you are exempt or have been granted an individual exemption.
Those who are exempt include Australian citizens, permanent residents of Australia, and immediate family members of Australian citizens or permanent residents.
Bhutan
Bhutan’s borders are currently closed to foreign nationals, including British citizens.
Falkland Islands
Current visitor restrictions mean tourists are not permitted to visit the Falkland Islands, including via cruise vessels.
Benin
Border crossings have been limited to 'extreme necessity' in the West African country of Benin.
China
China has suspended all flights from the UK.
No date has been announced on whether these measures will change but they are subject to review.
Entry from third countries is still possible.
France
Scots hoping to travel from the UK to France will only be able to do so for essential reasons only - regardless of vaccination status.
French nationals, as well as residents in France, are considered to have an essential reason for travel.
Germany
Only a small range of people will be allowed into the country, including British citizens who are a resident of Germany and German citizens.
UK nationals that are a resident in Germany must show proof of residence at entry into the country.

Indonesia
Tourist visas are not currently available for British Nationals.
Japan
All foreign nationals who do not have existing resident status cannot enter Japan for any purpose, other than in exceptional circumstances.
These rules have been in place since November 30, 2021.
Israel
Non-Israeli citizens are not allowed to enter Israel, unless they have a special entry permit from a dedicated 'Exceptions Committee'.
Laos
The government of the Lao PDR has suspended the visa on arrival service at all international entry points. No visas are being issued to people travelling from a country with cases of Covid-19, including the UK.
Malaysia
Entry to Malaysia for British nationals is prohibited.
Some exemptions may apply, including: British nationals with permanent resident status, resident pass, My Second Home Programme (MM2H) pass, expatriates of all categories, including professional visit passes as well as dependants pass, spouse to Malaysian nationals (spouse visa) and students and temporary employment passes.
Suriname
This tiny South American country has closed its borders to the outside world.
According to the Foreign Office, all international borders remain closed.
Morocco
The Moroccan government announced the suspension of all flights to Morocco with effect from 11:59pm on 29 November for two weeks.
This has since been extended until further notice.
Taiwan
Taiwanese authorities have announced a temporary ban on foreign nationals entering Taiwan.
Myanmar
New tourist visa applications are currently suspended.
The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) advises against all but essential travel to Myanmar, based on recent political events.
New Zealand
The New Zealand border is currently closed to almost all arrivals.
You may be able to travel to New Zealand while the border is closed if you are considered to have a critical purpose to travel.
Vietnam
Vietnam has suspended visa waivers, issuing of visas and the entry into Vietnam for all foreign nationals apart from a few exceptions.
