With a second lockdown feeling imminent, if you are desperate for an foreign holiday a last-minute break could be your best bet.
Yet, with Turkey and Poland being added to the UK’s quarantine list this week, our choices of where we can go overseas (and not quarantine at either end) are quickly diminishing.
Just six countries remain which UK visitors can enter without restrictions: Sweden, Italy, Greece, San Marino, Gibraltar and Germany (although the latter has restrictions for passengers from Wales and Northern Ireland).
Below, we detail any restrictions you could face in these countries.
Greece
If you fancy a jaunt to Greece, you’ll need to be careful about where you visit. Those who arrive in Scotland from Greece will need to self-isolate. Those arriving back to England will need to self-isolate only if they have visited a select few Greek Islands: Santorini, Crete, Mykonos, Serifos, Zakynthos, Lesvos and Tinos. Those arriving into Wales will need to self-isolate if they have visited Paros, Antiparos, Crete, Lesvos, Zakynthos and Mykonos.
UK arrivals to Greece need to fill in a Passenger Locator Form before they arrive and, if travelling by ferry to the islands, there will be separate forms to fill out during each ferry trip too.
Italy
UK visitors to Italy and Vatican City who have travelled to any ‘high risk’ countries 14 days prior to landing in Italy will be required to self-isolate for 14 days when arriving in Italy.
Sweden
No restrictions at either end.
Gibraltar
No restrictions at either end for passengers from Scotland, England and Northern Ireland. Those who arrive back in Wales from Gibraltar must self-isolate for 14 days.
San Marino
No restrictions at either end.
Germany
There are no restrictions on either end from passengers travelling from England and Scotland. Those arriving in Germany from Wales and Northern Ireland will have to self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival, but could be allowed to travel earlier if their Covid test comes back negative.
