UK set to heat up next week as temperatures reach as high as 29C

The UK is set for another round of scorching temperatures, with forecasters predicting a mini-heatwave at the start of next week.

It will be welcome news after the floods and continuous drizzle many parts of the nation have seen over the past few days.

The weather is set to turn for the better from the weekend, with Saturday being a much drier and pleasant day.

And it's only going to get better from there, Mirror Online has reported.

While Sunday is set to be slightly mixed, temperatures are set to reach as high as 29C by Wednesday in some parts of the UK.

Monday and Tuesday could be as high as 27C in London and 29C in the South East on Wednesday, according to forecasters.

The Met Office’s Becky Mitchell said: “On Monday we’ll see highs of 24C in the South East and low 20s in central England and Wales. On Tuesday it will start to get hotter, we see temperatures reach the high 20s. It will feel warmer in all parts of the UK.”

The UK weather forecast for today, Saturday and next week:

We will see a mixture of cloud and sunny spells today and tonight.

There will still be some rain around but nowhere near as bad as the previous days.

Saturday will be brighter in most parts of the UK and temperatures will be feeling a lot warmer. There may be a few showers in central and southern areas.

Sunday will be a bit more mixed and this is when most of the UK will hopefully see the last of the heavy downpours for the days following.

The northwest will still get some rain next week but it will be dry everywhere else, with temperatures getting higher on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
