UK’s youngest Lotto winner 'living on benefits after blowing £1.9m jackpot'

Britain's youngest Lotto winner is living on benefits after blowing her £1.9m jackpot, it has been reported.

Callie Rogers won her fortune at the age of 16 but after splashing out on three boob jobs, multiple lavish holidays and half a million on gifts she has nothing left, it has been claimed.

And the 33-year-old has now been slapped with a driving ban and curfew following a crash.

Appearing at Workington Magistrates Court on Wednesday, Rogers, of Cumbria, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a breath sample.

The mum-of-four was banned from getting behind the wheel for 22 months and given an 11-week curfew, the court told the Mirror.

A further charge for failing to stop after an accident was dismissed, it added.

After winning a 2003 jackpot, the teenaged Rogers was able to quit her £3.60-an-hour job as a shop assistant but has since squandered her £1.87m winnings.

She is now on Universal Credit, having spent £550,000 on homes for herself, her parents and grandparents and £300,000 on tattoos, clothes and make-up, reports The Sun.

The newspaper said Rogers also spent £250,000 on holidays, including to Disneyland Paris and Mexico, while other expenditures included multiple breast ops costing a total of £18,000.

Mike Woolaghan, for Rogers, reportedly confirmed in court: “She’s in receipt of benefits at the moment - she’s in receipt of Universal Credit for herself and the children."

Fame and riches sent her into a downward spiral of and attracted the wrong sort of attention, she has previously admitted.

In 2018 she feared she was going to die when two women assaulted her after a night out.

Rogers suffered broken ribs, smashed teeth, concussion and permanent damage to her sight following the attack.

In the years since winning she has also called on the National Lottery to raise the age limit to 18.

"I was too young. Overnight I went from carefree child to adult,” she said.

“You’re only 16, with all that responsibility. At that age, you can get the best advice ever but you’re not in a position to listen."

She added: “We all make mistakes in life and I made some when I was young and naive but winning the lottery was a big part of becoming the person I am today and I’m proud of who I am."

Rogers appeared in court at the same time as fellow defendant Jason Fearon.

He was ordered to pay a fine and compensation in relation to a charge of obstructing a police officer, the court said.
