UK's Fab Four contenders for Eurovision - and there are some very famous faces

Eurovision bosses have whittled options for this year’s UK entry down to four – including some “established” artists.

Discussions are under way for our act to collaborate in some capacity with Ukraine ’s entrant as Liverpool prepares to host May’s contest on behalf of last year’s winner.

Sam Ryder came second for us last year after being selected by management and publishing firm TaP Music, which has been drafted in again.

As we have had male artists four years in a row, co-founder Ed Millett says they “should, perhaps, not have a guy”. And TaP Music’s Ben Mawson teased: “We’re down to four acts, in varying forms of established.”

Artists could be female or non-binary and may not be a Brit.

The context will take place at The M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool (Andrew Teebay Liverpool Echo)

“What defines a Brit is fairly open – there’s a broad multicultural population,” he adds. It comes after Sam, left, called for more diversity in our act. Ben met President Zelensky last year in Kyiv when Ellie Goulding, who he manages, sang at his wife’s summit.

They have since been in touch with people arranging Ukraine’s entry and Ben said: “We’ll look to do something together.”

Tomorrow, the BBC will air the handover and semi-final allocation draw, ahead of the Grand Final on May 13 at the Liverpool Arena.
