UK’s biggest indoor waterpark to get a major upgrade costing £500k

  • Blackpool's Sandcastle Waterpark, the UK's largest indoor waterpark, is undergoing a £500,000 refurbishment.
  • The renovation includes upgrading changing room facilities, painting slides, and installing new audio systems.
  • Phase one of the changing village refurbishment is complete, with phase two expected to finish by Easter.
  • General manager Kyle Woodcock stated these improvements coincide with the waterpark's 40th anniversary.
  • Separately, the UK's first Universal Studios theme park received planning permission in December, with an expected opening in 2031 in Bedfordshire, projected to attract millions of visitors and create thousands of jobs.
