A Kilmarnock chip shop has been named among some of the best takeaways in the UK.
The Plaice To Be netted a plaice in the Top 50 Fry Magazine Awards 2020.
The Stoneyhill Avenue eaterie was one of only two Ayrshire takeaways named on the list.
The other was also a chippy – The Fish Works, Largs.
And the Killie takeaway managed to earn an impressive score following a mystery shopper visit earlier this year.
The Plaice To Be was scored on customer service, cleanliness and quality of their fish and chips and scored 97 per cent.
Sharing the good news on Facebook today, owner Jo Goudie said: "A bit of good news for us during this time.
"We have been voted in the TOP 50 takeaways in the UK by FRY MAGAZINE.
"In February we had a mystery shopper who scored us on customer service, cleanliness and quality of our fish and chips.
"We scored an impressive 97% out of 100%.
"Thanks to all my staff who worked incredibly hard for us to achieve this.
"Also thanks to our customers for your continued support we couldn’t do it without you."
