A glamour model dubbed 'Britain's best-paid porn star' who earns £25,000 a day was first spotted stacking shelves for £5-an-hour in Asda.
A photographer approached Gemma Massey and handed her his card when she was just 19 and working at her local store in Tamworth, Staffs.
Some 17 years later and the 36-year-old has just turned down £250,000 to film an adult movie in Los Angeles because she can earn more from her home, BirminghamLive reports.
She has travelled the world to film scenes and for photo shoots, become the first British woman to appear on the front Penthouse magazine and says she had new cars and free surgery written into her contract.
But she swapped the globetrotting lifestyle to launch her own online fans page, gemmamassey.co.uk, and claims working from the comfort of her living room has netted her more than £1 million.
She said: "It all started for me when I was spotted stacking shelves in Asda when I was 19. I was training to be a dental nurse at the time and wanted to earn some extra money.
"A guy approached me and told me he was a photographer and that I could be a glamour model.
"He gave me his card and decided to give him a call. I was earning less than £5 per hour at the time.
"I ended up being a page 3 model for lots of the tabloids and was a fans favourite in the Daily Sport.
"As my popularity grew I went over to America to do modelling work there and became the first woman from the UK to appear on the front page of Penthouse magazine.
"I got into adult films and at one point I was earning £25,000 per day. I would only work once a month. I had new cars and free surgery written into my contracts. I was earning a fortune."
Lockdown has seen a boom in people looking to online sex fans pages and at the end of 2020 she set up her own fans page.
She says the response has been phenomenal and she has earned as much as £25,000 per day and she doesn't have to leave her own house.
She added: "The response has been absolutely unbelievable since I launched it in December.
"I was offered a £250,000 contract to do porn in Los Angeles recently but I turned it down because of the amount of money I can earn online just working in my living room.
"The site allows other online sex workers to access the site. It is an excellent platform for all online sex workers. I launched it just at the right time.
"At the moment there is a huge demand for online sex sites. There are lots of people at home in lockdown and demand has soared.
"I can earn huge amounts of money and I don't even have to leave my living room. It is just phenomenal."
Gemma also owns two tanning salons in Tamworth and Derby and has a number of properties.
She added: "Glamour, porn and online sex work has really been brilliant for me.
"Not once have I not enjoyed my work and I have never been intimidated or exploited in any way. I am providing a service for many people out there and it is very lucrative."
