UK champion chippy, the Cod's Scallops, has scooped another prestigious award - but not for its fish and chips this time.
The winning streak has continued with a pie, which triumphed at the British Pie Awards announced on Friday, March 6 at a ceremony in Melton Mowbray.
A chicken, leek and ham pie, sold at restaurants and takeaways in Wollaton, Carrington, Long Eaton and Market Harborough, won the crown for Best Fish and Chip Shop Pie.
The buttery, melt in the mouth pastry, and generous filling wowed judges.
The class was one of 23 at the annual awards.
The latest honour comes just six weeks after winning the title of 2020 Fish and Chip Shop of the Year at the National Fish & Chip Awards.
The chippy's steak and ale pie scooped the top prize in the fish and chip shop category at last year's British Pie Awards - and its vegan balti pie was runner-up.
