Theresa May is expected to reconvene the National Security Council today to consider the UK Government’s retaliation to Moscow regarding the Salisbury nerve agent attacks.
It comes after the Prime Minister last week expelled 23 Russian diplomats from the UK in response to the attempted murder of a former Russian spy and his daughter. Over the weekend, Moscow responded to this with tit-for-tat expulsions of British diplomats.
Ms May is also under pressure from Brexiteer MPs and several of her Scottish MPs concerned about fishing rights after an agreement was reached on the transition period.
