UK opinion poll tracker: Gap between Tories and Labour narrows to 11 points

The gap between Labour and the Conservative Party has narrowed to 11 points, according to an average of comparable general election polls from the last seven days.

The poll of polls from PA shows the Tories have dipped by one point to 42 per cent in the last 24 hours, while support for Labour has increased by one point to 31 per cent.

It was the first time the gap showed to be shifting in the past week, narrowing from 13 points to 11.

Jo Swinson’s Liberal Democrats is the next biggest party, but it continued to trail behind Labour and the Tories at 15 per cent.

The Brexit Party, led by Nigel Farage, has seen a consistent drop in support since the December 12 general election was announced - from 12 per cent to four per cent.

Support for the Green Party has largely stayed the same, remaining between five and three per cent for most of the campaign period.

The latest data comes as a YouGov poll for The Times and Sky News showed the Tories held an 11-point lead over the Labour Party.

Support for the Conservatives stood at 43 per cent, up one point from YouGov's previous poll published on Saturday, while Labour was up two points at 32 percent.

The poll was the third in a row to show a narrowing of the Conservatives' lead over Labour.

YouGov interviewed 1,678 people on November 25 and 26.
