UK opinion poll tracker: Conservative Party gains extra point lead on Labour with 20 days to go until election, polls show

The Conservative Party has crept up to a 14-point lead over Labour, with just 20 days to go until the general election.

The figures, based on an average of comparable general election polls from the last week, puts the Tories on 43 per cent, with Jeremy Corbyn’s party lagging behind on 29.

This means Boris Johnson’s party has gained an extra percentage point over its closest rivals in the past three days, with Labour’s popularity unchanged.

The latest poll of polls, compiled by PA media, shows the Liberal Democrats have also moved up a point - from 14 to 15 per cent - while the Brexit Party has dipped down from six to four per cent.

The Greens have stayed down at three per cent, with other parties making up the remaining six.

The fresh survey comes after Labour, the Lib Dems and Greens revealed their respective manifestos, and the morning of the Brexit Party’s launch of its policies.

The Tories are yet to confirm when their own manifesto will be released, although the Treasury's chief secretary Rishi Sunak confirmed it will happen “very shortly”.

There is speculation it could come out on Sunday, though Chancellor Sajid Javid has suggested it will be made public "next week".

Labour’s manifesto has divided opinion, even among supporters, over its radical spending pledges.

Mr Corbyn has also faced criticism for speaking of his eagerness to get Brexit "sorted", rather explicitly "done" as the PM has repeatedly vowed.

Nigel Farage is due to outline the Brexit Party’s proposals at 11am today.
