A further 104 coronavirus deaths have been recorded in the UK - the lowest increase in five months.
It is the smallest rise in daily fatalities since October 26, when 102 deaths were announced.
The latest figure is also way down on the 178 Covid fatalities declared last Monday.
The number of new coronavirus cases has halved in a week, with the 5,455 announced today down from 10,641 last Monday.
It comes after hospital deaths in the country increased by 132 in the latest 24 hour period.
This figure is calculated differently from the number of Covid deaths in all settings, which is why it can sometimes be higher.
Some 127 patients passed away in England, while Scotland recorded no new deaths, Wales reported a further 3 deaths and in Northern Ireland 2 more people have died.

Last Monday, February 22, coronavirus deaths in hospitals in Britain increased by 191.
This was down by 24 per cent on the previous Monday (February 15) when 251 deaths were announced.
The tolls announced on previous Mondays were 342 on February 8, 394 on February 1, 653 on January 25, and 571 on January 18.
The total number of confirmed deaths reported in hospitals to 83,250, NHS England said on Monday.
Patients were aged between 46 and 99.
All one, aged 58, had a known underlying health condition.

The deaths were between December 9 and February 28, with the majority being on or after February 24.
There were 16 other deaths reported with no positive Covid-19 test result.
Scotland has recorded 386 positive coronavirus tests in the past 24 hours, Jeane Freeman said today.
Speaking during the Scottish Government's daily briefing, the Health Secretary said 202,470 people have now tested positive in Scotland, up from 202,084 the previous day.
The daily test positivity rate is 4.5%, up from 3.8% the previous day.
Of the new cases, 123 are in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 70 in Lothian and 51 in Lanarkshire.
No new deaths have been recorded, meaning the death toll under this measure - of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days - remains at 7,131.
There are 824 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus, down 13 in 24 hours, and 71 patients are in intensive care, down seven.
There have been a further 193 cases of coronavirus in Wales, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 203,818.
Public Health Wales reported another three deaths, taking the total in the country since the start of the pandemic to 5,343.
