A UK mum was left shaking her head in disbelief after her daughter's teacher sent a note home about her unusual packed lunch.
Melissa-Anne was in work when she received a message from her daughter's teacher saying she had found something unusual in her daughter's lunchbox.
She normally encourages her children to pack their own lunch, so she normally wouldn't worry that she would be bringing anything strange, however, her daughter Emily got a little bit too creative this day.
The message she received said that Emily had decided to bring cat food for lunch that day.
The teacher said: "I just wanted to let you know that Emily has shown me that she has cat food in her lunchbox.
"She said she packed it there herself and that she did not tell you. I have taken it away from her. Can I get you to chat with her after school?"
Melissa-Anne explained to Kidspot that her family has three pet cats and her daughter Emily is "cat-obsessed".
She said: "She likes to be funny and is a little cat obsessed. I didn’t know whether to cry, laugh or shake my head in disbelief…"
"I walked around work for the next two hours laughing and shaking my head like a crazy person to myself. Of course Emily took cat food to school…why wouldn’t she? It’s exactly what she would do!"
"Her aspiration in life is to own 50 cats and in her own words ‘I want to be a cat lady when I grow up.’
"We did make a human grade ‘cat’ themed lunch for tomorrow and I will give her (amazing) teacher the heads up that I made this one and she didn’t raid poor Minty’s food bowl again!"
