Britain’s Prince Charles has hailed Saudi Arabia's efforts in tackling the global impact of the COVID-19 disease after the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques chaired an extraordinary G20 virtual summit last week.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, made on Thursday a telephone call to Prince Charles, who has recently recovered after testing positive for the coronavirus, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

During their phone conversation, they affirmed relations of friendship between Saudi Arabia and Britain, SPA said.

Prince Charles thanked King Salman for inquiring about his health, and lauded the Kingdom for helping repatriate British tourists and pilgrims who were in Saudi Arabia before the suspension of flights as part of measures to fight the coronavirus outbreak, SPA said.

Prince Charles also hailed Saudi Arabia's efforts in limiting the global impact of the pandemic after King Salman chaired the G20 summit held through a video conference last Thursday, the news agency added.
