UK inflation has fallen but it’s not all good news – here’s why

  • Britain has experienced its first fall in inflation this year, with the annual rate of consumer price rises decreasing from 3.3 per cent in March to 2.8 per cent in April.
  • This reduction is largely attributed to government measures aimed at lowering energy costs. However, experts warn that this decline may be temporary, with forecasts suggesting inflation could surge to between 4 and 5 per cent by the summer.
  • This anticipated rise is primarily linked to the full impact of the Iran war, which is expected to drive up both fuel and food prices .
