UK hotel that lets you dine with giraffes set to open - but the waiting list is huge

Usually this kind of stuff is saved for luxurious safari's in the likes of Africa and Asia.

But soon people in the UK will get a taste of the experience without even leaving the country.

A luxury hotel is set to open in England which allows guests to sleep and dine within touching distance of roaming giraffes.

Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve located in Hythe, Kent will be home to its own Giraffe Hall - similar to that of the Giraffe Hotel in Nairobi - with hopes of opening next summer.

It is located in the 15th century Grade II listed Wealden hall house, and has 10 en-suite bedrooms as well as five luxury cabins which are set to provide "unrivalled views" over the reserve.

As it is located within the reserve, visitors will be able to get up close to the giraffe's including being able to feed them from their bedrooms.

On-site restaurant The Lapa will also be extended to include an outdoor decking and offer breakfast, lunch and dinner with 30 mile views over the reserve's savannahs where animals roam freely.

Only 40 guests will be accommodated at the hotel at any time and if you're interested in the incredible experience, you may have to wait a while.

That's because there is currently a 9,000-strong waiting list to visit and it's not hard to see why.

The unique experience is already catching people's attention (Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve)

The website explains: "Get closer than ever before and make friends with your giraffe neighbours, as the resident herd peer into the lofty ceilinged drawing room, or amble up to the bedroom windows, where you may be lucky enough to feed them."

The price of the accommodation hasn't yet been revealed, however, Port Lympne already offers a number of animal experiences, including at the Lion Lodge.

Guests get intimate access to lions Adras, Oudrika and their three cubs with prices starting from £1,750 a night.
