UK highway closed for more than 12 hours after lorry crash

  • The A14 has been closed near Ipswich after a lorry crash around 8pm on Tuesday.
  • Police said the westbound carriageway, between Sproughton and Whitehouse, would be closed all Wednesday morning.
  • A man was seriously injured in the crash and was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for treatment.
  • Drivers have encountered severe delays in Ipswich as they try to find alternative routes.
  • Police thanked motorists for their patience and said they would issue an update when the carriageway reopens.
