UK Eurovision singer rips into Piers Morgan after he calls him 'crap singer'

The UK's Eurovision singer James Newman hit back at Piers Morgan after the former GMB host called him a crap singer on Twitter.

James whose entry, the original track Embers failed to get a single point in the contest - either from Eurovision judges or the general public, was attacked by Piers on social media.

Following the contest final at Rotterdam's Ahoy arena on Saturday night, which saw the UK coming last, Piers wrote: "The UK didn't get 'nul points' in the Eurovision Song Contest because of some sinister revenge for Brexit.

"We got 'nul points' because we had a crap song, performed by a crap singer who gave a crap performance. End."

The brutal statement wasn't one that singer and writer James took lightly and he decided to have a go at Piers.

He referred to the now famous moment where Piers stormed off during a Good Morning Britain chat about Harry and Meghan, resulting in him leaving the show.

James wrote: "Hey Piers sorry you didn’t like the song, at least I didn’t storm out! #Eurovision."

As Scots fans began urging Nicola Sturgeon to put in a Scots entry James told fans he was philosophical about taking part in the song contest saying: "I want to focus on the positives of this amazing experience.

I stood on a stage and sang to hundreds of millions of people with a song that I wrote and love."

"Thank you to all the amazing dedicated fans who have supported me through the whole thing and made it all worth it.

Because at the end of the day they are the people who you do this all for."
