Drivers in the UK are being warned of two big changes set to hit all motorists from tomorrow Tuesday 1 March.
From March 2022 onwards, standard number plates on all new vehicles are being made extra-durable and need to pass new durability tests to make sure they can stand up against destructive materials on the road, Birmingham Live reports.

The new number plates will more resistant to debris such as road salt and dirt while other types of plate are set to be scrapped.
Additionally, two-tone number plates, which use different colour shades to create a 3D effect on the lettering, will be banned - meaning that Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras will be able to read the lettering better.
The new standard is BS AU 145e, and are being rolled out shortly.
