UK daily stats show 1,048 new confirmed cases of COVID-19

The United Kingdom recorded 1,048 new cases of COVID-19 in the latest daily statistics published on Wednesday, compared with 1,184 a day earlier, government figures showed.

Sixteen people died after testing positive for the coronavirus within the previous 28 days, the same number announced on Tuesday.
