Boris Johnson has given hope for those wanting an international holiday this year saying “double jabs will be a liberator”.
The Prime Minister, speaking during a visit to the Nissan plant in Sunderland, said: “Everybody who is frustrated about travel over the summer–double jabs will be a liberator.” He said however people should not expect travel to be “hassle free”.
Mr Johnson also sounded a note of caution about the July 19 reopening saying: “We’ll be wanting to go back to a world that is as close to the status quo, anti-Covid, as possible. There may be some things we have to do, extra precautions that we have to take.”
He said he would set out over “the next few days” what Step 4 of lockdown easing would look like.
