
Britain's controversial counter-extremism programme violates human rights, a United Nations expert has said.
The special rapporteur expressed concern over the "Prevent duty" placed on teachers, social workers, NHS staff and others to report suspected extremism.
A report issued on Wednesday suggested that Prevent should be scrapped in its current form, because it targets ill-defined "extremism" rather than violence or terrorism.
It comes amid criticism over delayed to an independent review of the scheme that has been hit by delayed and controversy since being promised a year ago.
