The EU has launched legal action against coronavirus vaccine-maker AstraZeneca as cross border travel resumed in the UK.

The bloc claims that the Swedish-British manufacturer failed to deliver vaccines under the terms of its contract. AstraZeneca said in a statement that it "regrets" the commission's decision to take legal action and it will "strongly defend" itself in court.

It comes as Britons will be able to travel between UK borders for the first time since Christmas. People living in England and Wales are allowed to travel to Scotland from today as restrictions eased.

Each UK nation has operated under different lockdown rules during the pandemic, meaning many Brits have been restricted from seeing friends and family.
