The US has eased many coronavirus restrictions despite lagging behind the UK in its race to vaccinate their population.

While France and Poland imposed fresh lockdowns on Saturday, large parts of America are now almost back to normal.

Texas governor Greg Abbott has already declared the state “open 100 per cent,” while thousands of students enjoyed Spring Break in Florida.

California, which was one of the most restrictive states, has finally allowed restaurants to re-open for indoor dining.

Gyms and cinemas are also open with limited capacity.

It comes as a third wave grips Europe, making international travel from May look increasingly unlikely.
