
Boris Johnson is set to address the nation at 7pm on Sunday evening as he sets out his "road map" towards easing the coronavirus lockdown.
Britons have been urged to follow the "unequivocal" stay at home guidance after police said they were "fighting a losing battle" against sun worshippers flouting the rules over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Transport Secretary Grant Shapps told the Downing Street daily press briefing the measures "have not changed", following reports of "hundreds" of people enjoying picnics in east London and a series of VE Day street parties coming under fire for apparent breach of the restrictions.
It comes as the UK's official coronavirus death toll within hospitals, care homes and the wider community rose by 346 to 31,587 and the Government missed its own 100,000-a-day testing target for the seventh day running.
